Busy at work

I should mention that the house building has come to a screeching halt this month as my husband is working a "turnaround" at work and literally has only had one "day off" in 3 weeks and every day gets home way after dark and leaves for work at like 6:30 in the a.m...I haven't even eaten supper with him since I can remember -- maybe it was the one day he had off and we poured the slab -- as if that could be considered a day off...I think he said maybe only another week of these insane hours and then maybe he'll take some time off...poor guy -- nothing but work, work, work!

Forms off of main Slab

We got the forms off of the main house this week...and now the next step is to form up the porches & garage and get them poured. This photo on the left is the front porch waiting for forms...I just love looking at it!

The picture on the right is from the driveway side of the house.

May 4th

First photo is the view from the back
Second Photo on the left is the view looking at the front of the new house
Third one (on the right) is a sideways shot of some rebar...how exciting...

Rebar is in on the main parts of the house -- we are waiting for the termite guy to lay down the termador on the foundation and then we will cover it with plastic, roll out the wire mesh, and pour a slab -- we will have a second pour after we prep the porches and garage, but this is exciting! Thanks Derek for helping out Saturday!
