Ready for Sheating - North & South Sections

Here is one last look before the north and south flanks get their sheating installed -- we passed our "hurricane connectors" inspection yesterday so the hubster is out there installing the bottom row of sheating right now. You can see the first pieces going on the bottom right corner on the last picture -- the pictures are all the way around the house from each of the four corners.

I thought I'd capture it all before it changes it look once again...once all the sheating goes on, we'll begin the roof of these two sections!

North Section Started

As you can see, we have now moved on to the "north" section of the house...It is looking a lot more symmetrical and that pleases me!

Bay window Started

This is the beautiful bay window I came home to today -- It think it will be so pretty -- it is right over my big air jet garden tub in the master bathroom. I can just see a pretty plant sitting on the shelf...

Shingles Done!

Shingles and ridge cap on the house -- it was actually finished last Sunday, but I finally got around to taking a picture this afternoon.

Shingles are done

At least I think so, he just went up the ladder with the last piece to go on the ridge vent and a light rain is falling -- I'll get some pictures posted after it dries up...I'm telling you it looks so pretty - I actually welled up just looking at it.

Shingles almost finished!

Thanks to Derek, Dad & my hubbie, the shingles are almost finished on the two story portion of the house. Only a few rows right at the top and the ridge cap and it will be done and the best part is that I didn't even get on the roof one time...thanks!

You can click on the pictures to see an up close view if you want to see the details. These are called "Slateline" shingles and have a piece of tin in the valleys to immitate a slate roof with ashpalt shingle.

Almost ready for Shingles!

We're almost ready to shingle the two story part of the house. The front, back and south sides of the roof all have sheathing, soffet(the white board you see across the edge), and drip edges...all that is left is this last photo...the north side. It will probably take a full day's work to do it maybe a day and a half so maybe next week (after this weekend's work) we will get our roof inspection for this part of the house and get those shingles done!
